Stefan Herbrechter has been Reader in Cultural Theory at Coventry University since 2009. Having studied English and Romanic Philology at Universität Heidelberg, Herbrechter gained his Ph.D. in English Literature at the Centre for Critical and Cultural Theory at Cardiff University in 1997. He taught and researched at Leeds Trinity and All Saints from 2003 to 2007. In 2007, he was appointed Visiting Professor for Cultural Studies in Heidelberg, where he habilitated with the thesis entitled “Anglistische Literaturwissenschaft mit dem Schwerpunkt Kulturtheorie” in 2009. Since 2013, he holds a Visiting Professorship for Critical Media Studies at the department of English at University of Malta. Moreover, Stefan Herbrechter is, together with Ivan Callus, chief-editor of a series of monographs (Critical Posthumanism). He serves as editorial board member of several journals and book series such as Culture Machine, CounterText and Critical Perspectives on Theory, Culture and Politics. Additionally, he is a translator of cultural theory and philosophy from French into English (Derrida, Cixous, Stiegler).
