Images of the Future
Macho’s research project at the IKKM deals with the cultural technologies of visualizing the future. This project intends to investigate visual function and paradigm shifts in prediction – between divination and prognostication, prophecy and science fiction, oracle and simulation – in an example-based and methodological manner; it aims to reflect upon the outlines of a history of consiliary knowledge and ground them in a general theory of preimages.
